Carribean Weather Zone
Includes all the Caribbean Region cities like Puerto Viejo, Cahuita, Manzanillo, Limon, Tortuguero, Siquirres, Guapiles, etc.
Temperatures
- Temperatures are relatively constant year round.
- May, June and October are the hottest months with average daily highs of 31°C (88°F)
- January, February, July and December have the coolest average day time temperatures: 29°C (84°F)
- Nighttime temperatures are usually cool and comfortable and range from 20 to 22°C (68- 71°F)
Rainfall / Wet & Dry Seasons
There is no defined dry season here. It rains a lot.
- The least rainy months are February/March and September/October, the latter being some of the rainiest on the Pacific side.
- July, November and December are the rainiest months.
- All months tend to have at least 4.5 to 5 hours of sun daily (on average) except July, which is the rainiest month.
- NOTE: Tortuguero is very famous for its nesting sea turtles. Their nesting season coincides with the rainy season.
Humidity
The Caribbean Region is the most humid region in Costa Rica.
- Humidity values are fairly constant throughout the year averaging in the upper 80's
- March and April tend to be the least humid months at 84%
- June, July, November and December are the most humid with values reaching 90% (these are also the rainiest months)
