South Pacific Weather Region

This is one of the greenest areas of the country. Some areas actually receive more than fifteen feet of rain per year. It includes: Dominical, Palmar (north and south), Drake Bay, Corcovado, Golfito, Puerto Jimenez, Pavones and everything in between.

Temperatures

Average temperatures during the dry season:

  • 26°C (79°F) along the coast, (average daytime temps of 31°C (88°F)
  • Night time temperatures of 22°C (71°F)
  • 75% humidity

Rainfall / Wet & Dry Seasons

  • The South Pacific has a short dry season: from the end of December - April with occasional intense afternoon showers.
  • From May thru November, the area can get up to a total of 16.5 feet (5000mm) of rain, which mostly falls in August, September, October and November. During the other months, rain often falls in the late afternoons and at night.
  • You can get lucky and visit during late June and July which experience a quickie dry spell, but these are some of the most humid months of the year.
